The Hunting

The club maintains 42 well marked blinds - a mixture of standup, single and double tanks on 20 ponds - allocated to members via a lottery system that governs blind assignments on the evening prior to every hunt.

Rich Island is a well managed wetland area, annully improved to ensure a thriving population of ducks. As a result Rich Island 2023 harvest continued at a string pace and above average for the pacific flyway area.

With over 30 blinds, Rich Island can accommodate  a range of hunting opportunities, skill levels and techniques. We have a range of single, two man and also stand up blinds for those less able.

Each year, the most distinguished hunter is awarded the illustrious Rich Island Apex Predator Award—a beacon of unrivaled glory in the realm of wing shooting sportsmanship. Introduced by legendary Waterfowl hunter David "Apex Predator" Bruce, this accolade, the pinnacle of hunting honors, celebrates the supreme hunter whose prowess and finesse transcend mere mortal capabilities, elevating them to legendary status in the annals of hunting history.
